Plan Intro DSW - June 2026 - “But God…”

Image
If you look up the word “but” in the dictionary or on dictionary.com, you might be surprised at how many uses you will find of that simple, 3 letter word.  I sure was surprised!!  I had no idea how many ways the word “but” could be invoked.  This month’s scripture writing topic, “But God…” will demonstrate the usage of that word in various ways throughout God’s Holy Word.  Many times, you will find it used in a way that seemingly turns a situation around, as shown in Genesis 15:20a, “But as for you, you thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good…” In Joseph’s situation, God had taken the evil perpetuated upon him by his brothers, and turned it to good.  How many times do we also see that play out in our own lives? We recently held a “But God…” service at our church.  After having a time of anointed worship and experiencing a powerful movement of the Holy Spirit in the service, we took turns, one by one, sharing how the Lord had taken a particular s...

DSW - MAY 2026 - "SING!"

Image
DSW - MAY 2026 - "SING!" There’s something powerful about a song. It can lift a heavy heart, declare victory before it’s seen, and carry truth deeper than spoken words ever could. Throughout Scripture, singing is more than music—it’s worship, warfare, remembrance, and joy all woven together. For me personally, singing is LIFE!  My mother first put me on the stage to sing a solo at the age of 8 at our small, country church .  To be honest, I wasn't super thrilled about it because I didn't like having all eyes on me, but I somehow made it through.  Mom knew God had given me a talent that I was to use for His glory! By 5th grade, I began singing in chorus at school, and continued doing so throughout my school years.  At age 22, my husband and I both joined the choir in the church we were attending, and my love for singing was stoked like never before.  I began singing in church every chance I got, doing so throughout his US Navy career, wherever we were ...

DSW PLAN INTRO - APRIL 2026 - NAMES OF GOD

Image
April 2026 - Daily Scripture Writing Plan, "Names of God" Preface: This month's plan was originally shared back in July 2022.  As I attempted to create a new plan for April 2026, my mind was unsettled and my Spirit felt blocked from creating brand new content.  I prayed and sought the Lord's direction.  I felt Him leading me back to this plan from several years ago.  The names of God are timeless. I never tire of studying them.  As we are currently observing Holy Week leading up to Easter 2026, I believe this plan definitely bears repeating.  Perhaps it will help us keep our focus on the characteristics of our loving Father, even long past frilly, new Easter dresses, hats and bows. May it remind us throughout the month of the facets of God we may not think about every day. (Original Intro Content - July 2022)  "El shaddai, el shaddai El-elyon na adonia Age to age You're still the same By the power of the name El shaddai, el shaddai Erkamka na ado...

DSW PLAN INTRO - MARCH 2026 - THE STORY OF EASTER

Image
Well, here we sit on the precipice of Spring, and it is so hard to believe! It seems like the older I get the more quickly time flies. This is never more evident than surrounding holidays. It seems like it was just yesterday that we were celebrating and telling the story of Christmas, and now we are looking squarely into the eyes of Easter! As a child, I would complain to my Granny Garrett, whom I had the privilege of growing up next door to, about being bored during the long, hot, Georgia summers. She would just chuckle at me with a glimmer in her eye and say “oh honey, just wait till you get older. Time flies!” Granny was right about that and so many other things!  As I prepare for Easter 2026, I was doing some shopping last week, seeking out some craft supplies for a church craft we are doing at our Spring Women's Prayer Breakfast next week. Walking up and down the aisles of my local Dollar Tree store, I was heartsick to see that not one, single Easter based piece of merchandise...

PLAN INTRO - FEB 2026 - STRENGTH IN ARMS

Image
"So let the storms rage high, the  dark clouds rise,  They don't worry me For I'm sheltered safe within the arms of God,  He walks with me And naught of earth can harm me,  For I'm sheltered in the arms of God." Have you ever had a time in life where you felt alone, deserted, and weak in the face of life's daily battles?  Where did you turn?  How did you cope?  There's no better place to turn in those times, and every single day, than to the arms of God. God's Word reminds us throughout about "strength in arms:" God's arms, the arms of Jesus, Kings, Queens, and even common people.  This month's plan will help highlight some of those.  It is designed to daily help you draw courage, steadiness, and spiritual resilience from God’s Word. Life brings battles of every shape and size, and while we don’t always get to choose our circumstances, we can choose the strength we stand in. This plan invites you to slow down, breathe, and let Script...

Image
DSW - DEC 2025 - THE KING HAS COME - Plan Intro "The King is coming, the King is coming I just heard the trumpet sounding And now his face I see The King is coming, the King is coming Praise God, He's coming for me" Just reading the words of that old hymn, "The King Is Coming," brings hot tears springing to my eyes.  This month's plan, "The King Has Come," reminds me that the infant child we celebrate this season became our Savior King! As we enter this sacred Advent season, our hearts turn once again to the miracle of Christ’s coming. The King Has Come Daily Scripture Writing Plan was created to help you slow down, breathe deeply, and draw near to the Savior through the steady rhythm of God’s Word. In a world full of hurry, Scripture writing is a simple yet powerful way to quiet the noise and let truth take root. Each day’s passage has been prayerfully selected to guide you through the story of Christ—His promised arrival, His humble birth, His s...

DSW - OCTOBER 2025 - THE SHEPHERD

Image
DSW - OCTOBER 2025 - THE SHEPHERD 14. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.  15. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.  16. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there  shall be one fold, and one shepherd.  17. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.  18. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.                 John 10:14-18 (KJV) The image of the shepherd runs like a golden thread throughout the pages of Scripture. From Genesis to Revelation, God reveals Himself as the One who leads, protects, provides, and lays down His life for His sheep. Jesus declares, “I am the Good Shepherd. The Good ...
