When my BFF & singing partner, Angela Carter, asked if I'd ever done a scripture writing plan using the topic, "Just As I Am," she got the wheels in my mind turning. That song seemed to be the hands-down, number one selection as the closing song in church services as I was growing up. Countless memories of belabored altar calls of refrain after refrain of the verses of "Just As I Am" flooded my mind. White knuckled sinners gripping the back of a pew succumbed to that "first step" to the altar to make Jesus Lord and Savior of one's life as verse after verse lifted into the air of the church.
