" Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind? Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and auld lang syne?" In just a few short days, we'll hear these words ringing out across the airwaves of television, radio, internet streaming, videos, etc. The song, "Auld Lang Syne," has become synonymous with the New Year's holiday. In my research for this intro, I learned that it was written by Scottish Bard, Robert Burns, who lived in Scotland in the late 1700's. It was a tribute of sorts to friendship, encouraging the listener to hold on to old friendships and to remember them fondly. Proverbs 18:24 says, "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." That friend is Jesus!
