DSW - OCTOBER 2025 - THE SHEPHERD
14. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there
shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
17. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. John 10:14-18 (KJV)
The image of the shepherd runs like a golden thread throughout the pages of Scripture. From Genesis to Revelation, God reveals Himself as the One who leads, protects, provides, and lays down His life for His sheep. Jesus declares, “I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep” (John 10:11).
This 31-day reading plan is designed to draw you closer to the heart of the Shepherd who knows you by name. Each day, you’ll explore passages that reveal His care, His guidance, His protection, and His promises. As you walk through these Scriptures, take time to listen for His voice and rest in the assurance that you are never forgotten or alone.
Whether you are in green pastures, beside still waters, or walking through the valley of the shadow of death, the Good Shepherd is with you. He leads you, restores you, and calls you to trust Him more deeply.
My prayer is that over the next month, you will not only read about the Shepherd but also experience His presence in fresh and life-giving ways.
Happy Writing! ~Mel~
** Please note: I write all my plans based from the KJV Holy Bible, so other translations may vary in wording, but should have the same context. Also, I write all my plans for 31 days so they can be used any month of the year. **
