10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. John 10:10-11

"I came that they may have life, and have it more abundantly." 

Oh, what a Savior!  Not only does He bring life, but He brings it "more abundantly!"  Oh, how He loves you and me!

Have you enjoyed the first part of the "Jesus in the Book" plan?  Are you seeing Him in the written words on the pages every day?  He is there!  The Good Shepherd is present throughout the sacred scriptures, and not only is He there, He is there to bring life and abundance!  There truly is no greater love.

I marvel that He comes to bring us ABUNDANT LIFE.  James 1:17a says, "'Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights." Yes. our loving, heavenly Father gives us good and perfect gifts, in spite of the fact that our righteousness is as "filthy rags." (Isaiah 64:6). We are made clean by the blood of Jesus! Isaiah 1:18 says, "though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow." What an amazing gift!!!  Our sins are washed clean by the blood of the Lamb, who came to bring us life more abundantly!

But should I marvel?  Why should I be surprised that our loving, heavenly Father wishes to give us good and perfect gifts? This was the question that prompted me to write a song called, "Ain't It Just Like Our God," which my singing partner and I recorded last summer and was released to radio in January of this year.  The chorus says, 

"Ain't it just like our God to move that mountain? Ain't it just like our God to part a raging sea? 

Ain't just like our God to raise up a dead man? Ain't it just like our God, to move in you and me?"


Our good, good Father is always at the ready to share life & abundance with us. He proves it in His Word. He proves it through the peace in our hearts. He proves it as He walks with us day to day and and sees us through the good days and the bad. The greatest illustration of all this comes through the pages of God's Word, where Jesus is evident in every book!


As we continue through the season of Lent and to Easter in just a few short weeks, my prayer is that you see Jesus through this scripture writing plan in new and fresh ways. I pray His love becomes more evident than ever before in your life. I pray that you see those good and perfect gifts that He gives in abundance. I pray that the love of our risen Savior-King leaps out at you on each page!!

 April 2026 - Daily Scripture Writing Plan, "Names of God" Preface: This month's plan was originally shared back in July 2022.  As I attempted to create a new plan for April 2026, my mind was unsettled and my Spirit felt blocked from creating brand new content.  I prayed and sought the Lord's direction.  I felt Him leading me back to this plan from several years ago.  The names of God are timeless. I never tire of studying them.  As we are currently observing Holy Week leading up to Easter 2026, I believe this plan definitely bears repeating.  Perhaps it will help us keep our focus on the characteristics of our loving Father, even long past frilly, new Easter dresses, hats and bows.
