DSW February 2025 - "Remember," - plan intro

DSW February 2025 - "Remember," - plan intro

The word "remember" holds significant weight across many languages and cultures, but its true depth extends beyond mere recollection of past events. In this months Daily Scripture Writing Plan, we will see various uses and contexts of the word "remember," as used in God's Word.
In some contexts, it is used in reference to a personal situation where an individual is recalling something in particular, but it is most often used as a method of getting the attention of the given audience; to highlight a given principle, situation, admonition, etc. In the King James version, the word, "remember," in its base form, is found over 350 times. When expanded to "remembering," or other variants, the instances grow exponentially! There is no doubt that this is a very important word and concept in the Holy Bible!
"Remember" is often used in connection with covenants between God and man.
* After the flood, God set a "bow in the cloud" as a "token of a covenant" to not again destroy the earth by water and "that I may remember the everlasting covenant between me and every living creature" on the earth.
* We are to remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy "as a perpetual covenant ... between (God) and the children of Israel forever" (Exodus 31:16-17).
* When Abraham entered the promised land of Canaan, he built an altar to commemorate the Lord's appearance to him and the renewal of the covenant the Lord made with him (Genesis 12:6-8).
As we dive into our daily assignments this month, let's endeavor to look at the fullness of this word. Ask yourself what the context is in the given instance, who is speaking it, to whom and where? Is it a directive straight from God the Father and if so, how does it speak to my heart?
Happy Writing!!
~Mel~
PS. Over the next 2 months, our plans will be "Jesus in the Book." Please pray for me as I complete the research and write these. They look like they'll be very different from our norm!
** Please note: I write all my plans based from the KJV Holy Bible, so other translations may vary in wording, but should have the same context. Also, I write all my plans for 31 days so they can be used any month of the year. **
