Daily Scripture Writing - JULY 2024 - "PSALMS OF PRAISE"

Plan Intro: Daily Scripture Writing - JULY 2024 - "PSALMS OF PRAISE"

I just want to praise the Lord ©
By Melissa Hood

I just want to praise the Lord
I just want to praise Him more
For all the things He's done and where He's brought me from,
Oh, I just want to praise the Lord!

I just want to praise His name
He's the one who's always the same
He never changes and He stands by me
Oh I just want to praise His name.

He's been faithful, he's been good.
He stands by me, when no one else would!
His Word is faithful, His word is true.
And what He's done for me, I know He'll do for you.

I just want to praise the Lord
I just want to praise Him more
For all the things He's done and where He's brought me from,
Oh, I just want to praise the Lord!

As I read through the book of Psalms, aka "Song of Songs," I feel like King David and the other authors  shared the sentiments that motivated me to write the song above; I just wanted to PRAISE THE LORD!  Yes, there are plenty of Psalms with other tones & sentiments, but PRAISE rings above it all!

- Enemies coming against you?  JUST PRAISE THE LORD!
- Going through diverse difficulties & trials?  JUST PRAISE THE LORD!
- Lost all you own and left alone?  JUST PRAISE THE LORD!
- Feeling far from God and yearning for His touch? JUST PRAISE THE LORD!

In Psalm 22:1-3, King David is lamenting to God, asking why He has forsaken him, has left him alone, isn't hearing him, etc.  But in verse 3, it states, "But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel." Even in the midst of feeling so far from God, King David still glorified God, and acknowledged that HE inhabited the praises of Israel.  THIS is exactly as it should be when we are in the midst of the hardships, difficulties and loss in our lives.

This month's plan, "Psalms of Praise," is a random sampling of PRAISE found throughout the book of Psalm.  It is not intended to be an exhaustive listing, but perhaps just enough to cause you to dig deeper and seek out even more praise in God's Word.  I believe when you do, you will find it coming alive in your soul and spurring praise in your own heart, soul, mind & body!  Let's get our PRAISE on!
Mel

Please note: I write all my plans based off the King James Version of the Holy Bible, so other translations may vary in wording but should have the same context. Also, I write all plans for 31 days so that they can be used any month of the year.
