DSW - MAY 2024 - ONE ANOTHER
PREFACE TO INTRO: Yes, the plan for May was to use the "life" verses people submitted. Unfortunately, though this group has almost 7,500 members, the vast majority are silent members and while that is absolutely fine, we unfortunately only received a handful of submissions for the "life" verses plan. I will re-introduce the idea at another time and maybe then, it will fly! :)
INTRO TO MAY 2024 - "ONE ANOTHER"
On his 1992 album, "Change Your World," Grammy nominated, multi-Dove award winning artist, Micheal W. Smith, included the song, "Love One Another." Though it didn't garner as much critical acclaim as many of his other songs have, this one sticks in my mind because I'm pretty sure that I literally wore that entire CD out, listening to it over & over & over again! The chorus to "Love One Another," says,
Love one another, Love one anotherWork it in to work it out, There could never be enoughLove one another, Love one anotherCause you know without a doubt, You can change your world with love
Around that same time in my life, we were attending a church in Virginia Beach, VA where Pastor Benny Hampton lead us all in a stirring rendition of his own "one another" diddy, using the wording straight from 1 John 4:7-8 KJV. I'll never forget his booming voice and charismatic personality bursting through as he belted out the words, with an added "be-dooby-do" at the end. Point made. It stuck in my heart & mind.
I was recently at a mental health and the church seminar at a local church where the speaker, Dr. Shane Clements, made mention of the fact that the words "one another" are used a plethora of times in God's Word. I made a note to research that and when I did, I knew I wanted it to be a scripture writing plan.
Those 2 words are golden! They are used in a myriad of contexts, the likes of which I haven't even begun to capture in this plan! As you write this month, try to determine the context in which those 10 letters are used that day's assignment. Ponder the application in the time it was written, the application in today's world, and the application in your life. As we do, I believe our loving, heavenly Father God will reveal to us new ways that those words can minister to our hearts, minds & lives.
Happy Writing!!
~Mel~
Please note: I write all my plans based off the King James Version of the Holy Bible, so other translations may vary in wording but should have the same context. Also, I write all plans for 31 days so that they can be used any month of the year.
