DSW Feb 2023, "Beloved & Chosen"

Jordan Feliz released a song on the Contemporary Christian charts in 2015 called "You Are Beloved."  The song made it as far as #6 on the Billboard Christian charts, and still gets a lot of airplay now, 8 years later. Feliz says that he penned this tune upon the event of the birth of his daughter because he wanted her to know that no matter what the world says, things like "she’s not going to be pretty enough, she’s not going to be skinny enough or smart enough," that she, and everyone in the whole world, is "loved and cherished by the Creator of the universe. That is where our worth is found, in the blood of Jesus." The chorus of that song says,
"You are beloved
I wanted you to knowYou are belovedLet it soak into your soulOh, forget the lies you heardRise above the hurtAnd listen to these wordsYou are belovedI want you to knowYou are beloved"
As we enter into the month of February, many people will be celebrating or recognizing Valentine's Day, a holiday of "love." Although it's fun to recognize those we love, there is no greater love than the love of our God! Scripture affirms this over and over again in passages like these:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:16-17
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
John 15:12-13
Not only are we beloved, but we are chosen!!!  This too is affirmed again and again throughout scriptures, such as,
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
1 Peter 2:9
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and
bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
John 15:16

As I prayed about the topic for this month's scripture writing plan, the words "Beloved & Chosen" just kept coming to my mind, so I began to research and study. I felt my heart soar as I read over and over again how God loves us, and how we are His "chosen people." Once I began reading in Song of Solomon, I knew there was no better love letter for us to focus on! Though it was penned by King Solomon as a love letter, it is also interpreted as a love letter to us - the church - the bride of Christ!
While writing the scriptures this month, let your mind and heart focus on the fact that you are "BELOVED & CHOSEN." God has a plan for your life, and He loves you!
Happy Writing!

** Please note: my plans are written based on the King James version of the Holy Bible.  Other translations may vary in their wording, but have the same meaning. Also, I write all my plans for 31 days so that they may be used any month of the year. **
