September 2022 Scripture Writing Plan, "Seasons."

Back in early August as I began to pray and ponder about what the Lord might have me focus the September Scripture Writing Plan on,  one word kept coming to my mind; "Seasons." I kept trying to push it from my mind, thinking that surely there wasn't enough use of that word in the Holy Bible to focus 31 days of writing on it, as I was waiting for the Lord to point me to another topic to write about.  It didn't happen; He just kept prompting the word "Seasons" upon my heart!  So, just past mid-month, I finally relinquished and did a Bible word search on it.  I was ASTOUNDED at what I found!  Not only were there 31 occurrences of the use of that word, but many, many more!  God wins!

The word "seasons" or "season" can be used as a noun or verb, and in different idioms.  This is what dictionary.com has to say about it:

season [see-zuhn]

  1. one of the four periods of the year (spring, summer, autumn, and winter), beginning astronomically at an equinox or solstice, but geographically at different dates in different climates.

  2. a period of the year characterized by particular conditions of weather, temperature, etc.: the rainy season.

  3. a period of the year when something is best or available: the oyster season.

  4. a period of the year marked by certain conditions, activities, etc.: baseball season.

  5. a period of the year immediately before and after a special holiday or occasion: the Christmas season.

  6. Sports.

    a period with reference to the won-lost record of a team after it has completed its schedule: a .700 season.

7. any period or time: in the season of my youth.

8. a suitable, proper, fitting, or right time: This is not the season for frivolity.

  1. to heighten or improve the flavor of (food) by adding condiments, spices, herbs, or the like.

  2. to give relish or a certain character to: conversation seasoned with wit.

verb (used without object)

  1. to become seasoned, matured, hardened, or the like

IDIOMS ABOUT SEASON
1. for a season, for a time, especially a short time: He lived in Paris for a season.
2. in good season, in enough time; sufficiently early: Applicants will be notified of our decision in good season.

a. Asparagus is now in season.
b. in the period regulated by law, as for hunting and fishing.

4. in season and out of season, regardless of time or season; at all times: Misfortunes plague this family in season and out of season.
5. out of season, not in season: The price is so high because lilacs are out of season now.

Wow!! That is a lot of information!! If dictionary.com has that much to say about this word, just imagine what God's word has to say.
It really was enlightening and a blessing to me as I studied this word. I thought about the seasons of the year as we are currently in
the midst of changing from Summer to Fall in the southeast United States. I love watching the leaves change and feeling the
subtle changes in the morning air every day. Though Fall is considered by some to be a season of death, as Christ followers,
we know that death in Christ brings NEW LIFE, and that is reason for CELEBRATION!!

I also thought about the seasons of my life in different ways: Childhood, young adulthood, motherhood, grandmotherhood, etc. Pre-career,
career, post-career, etc. Pre-salvation, new Christian, maturing Christian. With this many (and more) "facets" of the seasons of my life,
I know I'm just beginning to understand the abundance of the application of this word both the english language and in the Holy Bible.

This month's plan begins with Ephesians 3, which elaborates on "seasons." You may be familiar with these passages, but I
hope using them in the early part of the month will open the door for your heart & mind to start focusing on "Seasons."

1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 a time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 a time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Key notes: (1) my plans are based off of the King James Version of the Holy Bible.  If you use another version, that is perfectly fine, but please understand that there may be some variations in words, phrasing, etc.  (2) my plans are all written for 31 days, even on months that have less.  I do this so that the plan can be used not only on that designated month, but for any month someone might choose.     





(3) There is no right or wrong way to scripture writing. The point of it is to focus your mind and heart solely on God's Word for a few moments of each day. If you wish to write more than the daily assignment, feel free to choose your text and carry on!  If you wish to write less than the daily assignment, choose your key text and write only that.  This is YOUR writing and is totally up to you.

 April 2026 - Daily Scripture Writing Plan, "Names of God" Preface: This month's plan was originally shared back in July 2022.  As I attempted to create a new plan for April 2026, my mind was unsettled and my Spirit felt blocked from creating brand new content.  I prayed and sought the Lord's direction.  I felt Him leading me back to this plan from several years ago.  The names of God are timeless.
