May 2022 DSW - "New"

 Happy May, everyone!

It seems that Spring is now in full swing here in the southeast United States, and "NEW" is bursting forth all around.  New flowers, new leaves on trees, new temperature highs, etc.  If it weren't for the heavy blanket of yellow tree pollen everywhere, it would be sheer perfection! I do truly love Spring.  It puts a pep in my step, a song in my heart, and a smile on my face.  Well, I smile once my allergies are under control! Hahaha!  

All this newness around me has my heart thinking upon "new" things in God's Word.  In many places, "new" is expounded upon in various ways. This month, our scripture writing plan will focus on the word "new."  

I sing in a ladies gospel trio called, "The Chosen RAM." We've only been together as a group for about 6 months, although we've been friends for years.  Shortly after we began singing together, the Lord spoke a word into the heart of one of our members, Renee, telling her that He is "doing a NEW thing."  She excitedly called the other 2 members, myself and Angela, to tell us about it.  It was a Sunday morning and we were between morning services at church when Renee called and shared what the Lord had spoken into her heart. As my husband and I were preparing for morning worship, one of our fellow church members pulled my husband to the side and told him that she had been in prayer for us last night, and that God had told her that He is "doing something NEW in us."  At the same time, our third trio member, Angela, was at her church.  A visiting minister took the podium to preach, and guess what he preached on??  "GOD IS DOING A NEW THING!!" WOW!  A Word from God to all 3 of us, within the same hour.  Coincidence?  NO WAY! THAT was a God thing!!  We have been so very humbled and excited to see what NEW thing(s) God is doing or will do in our lives, our trio, our families, churches, and most importantly, in HIS kingdom!

Isaiah 43:19 says, "Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."  As we focus our scripture writing on "New" this month, ponder the new things God is doing in your life, in your heart, and in your soul.  Take it even deeper and think about how He's working new things in your family, your church, your circle of friends, etc. Look for the "new" all around you. I think you'll be surprised to see His hand everywhere!

This month's writing assignments range from one verse to four or 5 verses.  If you don't wish to write as many as four of 5 verses, just choose the verse from that passage that speaks to you most, but read and ponder upon all the assigned text for fuller comprehension, and to allow the Lord to speak into your heart on that given day.

The plan is written for 31 days, but if you would like to save the plan and do it on a month that has less than 31 days, just omit the extra days to make it fit the given month.
