February Scripture Writing Intro, "Love."
In October of 2015, my friend, Tammy Ullrich, introduced me to Daily Scripture Writing; specifically the plans created and published by Sweet Blessings (swtblessings.com). I began doing them every day, and found that it was a GREAT way to get my scattered mind focused on God's Word every day. Daily devotions, scripture memorization, etc. had been a major struggle for me up to this point as my attention deficit wired brain liked to ping all over the place, never fully focusing in and comprehending the text(s). Having been a note taker for most of my life, THIS was right up my alley! I felt like God's Word had been presented anew to me. Two months after I began following the Daily Scripture Writing Plan, Tammy and I founded the Daily Scripture Writing Group. For 6 years we had the pleasure of sharing the Sweet Blessings plans on the group page, as it grew in amazing ways! Late in 2021, Shannon (from Sweet Blessings) announced that for personal, spiritual reasons, she would no longer be publishing new plans. Tammy and I decided to take a month to decide which plan(s) would become our official group plans, and we posted the previously published New Years plan on the page for Jan. 2022 as we began shopping around. While searching for new plans, it quickly became overwhelming to me because there are SO MANY great plans and publishers of plans out there!!! One morning, while I was looking at plans and feeling overwhelmed, the Lord quickened my heart, prompting me to write a plan myself! With His help, I drafted the Feb. 2022 plan, "Love." Tammy and other trusted sisters in Christ have been my proofreaders, and now the plan is being shared with you! Going forward, I am hoping the Lord will continue to prompt my heart and lead me to author new plans for our group for as long as He sees fit.
Our February plan is, "LOVE." I felt that was an appropriate first topic for me to pull together, as the month of February is widely known as "the month of love."
Countless songs have been written about "Love" through the ages:
In her one of a kind voice, Tina Turner sang, "What's Love Got To Do With It?"
The Beatles "All You Need Is Love" hit the pinnacle of #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart in 1967.
Disney's movie, "The Lion King," introduced us to the song, "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" in 1994.
According to Google, the #1 love song of all time is Dolly Parton's song, made famous by Whitney Houston in 1992, "I Will Always Love You."
I pray this month's writing assignments speak to you as much as they did to me, that your days are blessed by including them in your daily studies, and the the Lord blesses the time you spend in His holy word!
