Plan intro: DSW - JUNE 2025 - "JUSTIFIED"
Plan intro: DSW - JUNE 2025 - "JUSTIFIED"
"Just as I am, without one plea
But that Thy blood was shed for me,
And that Thou bidd’st me come to Thee,
O Lamb of God, I come, I come."
When my BFF & singing partner, Angela Carter, asked if I'd ever done a scripture writing plan using the topic, "Just As I Am," she got the wheels in my mind turning. That song seemed to be the hands-down, number one selection as the closing song in church services as I was growing up. Countless memories of belabored altar calls of refrain after refrain of the verses of "Just As I Am" flooded my mind. White knuckled sinners gripping the back of a pew succumbed to that "first step" to the altar to make Jesus Lord and Savior of one's life as verse after verse lifted into the air of the church. Though I truly didn't comprehend it as a child, to this very day I still cannot even begin to comprehend the gravity of coming to Jesus, "Just As I Am."
Sometime later in life, someone said that the word, "justified" could be summed up in this sentence: "Just As If I'd Never Sinned." Oh, what a glorious thought!!! ALL of our sin...past, present, and future are covered under the blood of Jesus Christ! JUSTIFIED in His great love! The full scope of that is simply immeasurable. We can try to quantify it in our hearts and minds, but I fully believe it can't be done. ALL of our sin covered for ALL of eternity by just ONE drop of blood. JUSTIFIED in Christ; "Just as I am." It humbles me, brings me peace and gives me eternal hope in Jesus!
This month's scripture writing plan focuses on the word, "JUSTIFIED," as found in the King James Version of the Holy Bible. As you read it in varying contexts, ponder the meaning of that particular passage. Read the passages just before and after the assigned verses to broaden your understanding of its use there. Is it used in a negative way, or in a positive? Does it encourage you, admonish you, or lead your mind elsewhere? If you use a digital version of the Bible (like the Bible app), set it to a parallel Bible and look at 2 translations of the passage side by side. You may be surprised at the new light you see the passage in. Pray for the Lord to open your mind and heart to a deeper understanding of His holy Word. You may be surprised at how He will guide you!
Happy Writing, friends!
Melissa
** Please note: I write all my plans based from the KJV Holy Bible, so other translations may vary in wording, but should have the same context. Also, I write all my plans for 31 days so they can be used any month of the year. **
