DSW - NOV 2024 - IT IS WRITTEN - INTRO
Do you ever feel like all you do is repeat yourself? Especially if you’re a parent, it seems like you’re always saying the same things, over and over. “Didn’t I tell you to pick up your socks? Didn’t I say to turn off the lights? Did you do your homework? Have you brushed your teeth?” In my journey as a parent, many times it felt like all I did was repeat myself!
Our loving, heavenly Father has documented repetitions of things He has said in his Holy Word. The words “it is written, thus it is written, thus saith the Lord,” etc. are found in different translations many, many times! It seems as if the Lord were trying to remind us that he has told us something, and he wants to reiterate, or to drive a point home (as Jesus did when Satan tempted Him). I was recently in a church service and in his sermon, the minister brought this up. It stirred curiosity in me, and I begin looking through scripture to substantiate his statement. I found it to be true! It seems that there are many things in God‘s word that he felt worthy to remind the readers that it has been written in other places within the Holy Book. For this month’s scripture writing, we will look at a few of those examples. They come from different contexts many times, but still the attention is drawn to the fact that the same thing has been written in another place.
As you write, let the words sink in deeper and be resounded in your soul. Ask yourself why God felt this particular passage beared repeating, needed to be emphasized, etc. Was the “it is written” used to rebuke a misinterpretation of God’s Word, as Satan did in the temptation of Jesus? As an added challenge, can you find the original scripture the passage is referring to? This plan has the potential to be challenging at a deeper soul level, if we let it, so LET’S GO!!
Happy Writing!!
Mel
** Please note: I write all my plans based from the King James Version of the Holy Bible, so other translations may vary in wording but should have the same context. Also, I write all plans for 31 days so that they can be used any month of the year.
